Locally, can get this as low as $7.99, which is amazing. This is easily equal to a $30-$40 bottle of full taste, wonderful nose, long finish. Drinkable!
Strong and spicy

This was a very nice full bodied Syrah. I've enjoyed a number of Cline's offerings and especially like their Cashmere wine. I decided to give this a try. Not quite as good as the Cashmere but still quite good. I had this with a spicy, peppery soup and thought it worked well together.
A surprise develops

Somewhat sharp when first opened, this wine develops a sensuous nose both slightly floral and berry; rich but not overwhelming taste. Great to accompany meats and pasta.

Absolutely delicious syrah

For those of us who likes full body, thick fruit forward, 14% alcohol absolutely delicious syrah, here is the hint: RUN and buy a case of this stuff. Really dark color, nose full of dark fruit, tobacco, cassis. First sip reveals good structure, lots of cassis, plums and a little tobacco. This syrah is rich to the point that you look at the label and wondering weather they poured zinfandel in the bottle by mistake. Long finish. Cline did a good job with this one. I bought it as it was recommended by WS recently. I really didn't expect this quality of wine at this price point.

Very peppery dry unsweet shiraz,,,Would go great with steaks. Not for me, but wife thought ok.

The back label calls this 2005 Syrah "up over!" I THINK that's Cline's version of the Aussie Shiraz expression: "Over the Top!" Whatever, it IS very spicey and "oaky" if somewhat light bodied. Heavily decanted, it will pair nicely with Pizza, Tex-Mex and other spicey dishes. However it isn't concentrated or complex enough to serve as an apertif.
