2005 - Thunder In A Bottle!
09/06/2010
by Thumper 12141604
This 2005 Rioja Reserva is a very firmly structured Old World food wine, indeed. Deep, dark, brooding, earthy nose. Loads of plum, licorice and blackberries on the mid palate with some oak showing through on the pleasantly lingering finish. Tannins under control, balanced acidity. Best served with robust red meat and rich cheese dishes. Probably an acquired taste as an aperitif. A rewarding red table wine at a fair price. Recommended without reservation.
