Great value on a Cabernet Franc blend
01/15/2005

Very fruity as one would expect from a Loire red. It is mild compared to most Cabernet Francs. I attribute much of this to the high content (30%) of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Very approachable, very drinkable...yet a touch of sophistication...nice...try instead of a Sangiovese or Pinot Noir sometime...you won't be disappointed.

Sadly, this pedestrian red Cab Franc/Cabernet blend doesn't remotely live up to that reputation: Thin, devoid of nose, weakly structured, no tannins to speak of. Maybe they should just stick to crafting their wonderful whites?
