The Best I've Tasted

We had this wine at PF Chang's and were very pleased - a real winner. The best Malbec I've tasted and we have tried many.
Nearly perfect

When I think of what Malbec should taste like, this is it....
GOOD VINTAGE BUT TOO PRICY

Catena makes a great wine! I had a good vintage and it went well with the WTC (Wine Tasters Club). Smooth with layers of chocolate and spice. It was a definite hit. I hope to continue to purchase a good vintage. I do recommend this wine.

enjoyed this one with a plate of pasta. If you like Malbec then you will enjoy this one.
Great wine for a reasonable price

I don't know why I read some bad reviews on this particular wine. I think it is a great tasting wine, favorably compares to many more expensive wines. Smooth, well rounded and I'll say it's a 92 pts in my book.

all it lacks is body - very Merlot-like, but a bit high-priced
Unimpressive

Overated... not sure if I had the 2001 or 2002, but regardless I doubt I would give Catena another chance at their standard average $20+ per bottle. There are much better Malbecs out there at slightly lower prices.
Good but too pricey

Pretty good, very drinkable (if you like merlot). More like a 3.5 than a 3. We've found others at half the price that are better, though.
Not like it's cousin Catena Alta

Not impressive. This is a drinkable wine of no real character. Typical malbec with berries, oak, and spices. No real depth. Try to get your hands on Catena Alta Malbec (2003, 0r 2004). WS gave it a 94 and it will impress you as one of the very best malbecs you will ever drink.
