Expert Reviews
With deep, wonderfully rich, obviously aged aromas that show lots of toasty autolysis and an inviting bisquity quality, this one has the makings for greatness yet, on the palate, has wandered to the wrong side of ready. It fills the mouth with a fine and very creamy mousse, yet its developed, abundantly yeasty and decidedly complex flavors are a little low in vitality and argue convincingly for present drinking. It is a fine wine in its own right but does not achieve the brilliance of the 1990 edition.
Bracing, youthful aromas of lime, minerals, menthol and stone; pure and subtle. An urgent, vibrant, very dry Champagne that shows remarkable power and thrust in the context of its vintage. Very concentrated, tactile wine, with brisk citrus, almond and mineral flavors really clinging to the palate on the very long, lemony aftertaste. This brand-new release is still quite unevolved yet its components are already well organized.
