($80) Deep, bright ruby. Claret-like aromas of currant, bitter chocolate, brown spices, game, tobacco, iron, cedar and cigar box. Dense, sappy and vibrant, with lush black cherry fruit over a firm backbone. Finishes rather powerfully tannic and long. Seems a bit tougher than the '96 reserva
