($39) Saturated ruby-red. Cote-Rotie-like aromas of raspberry, bacon fat, chocolate, mocha and tarry oak. Sappy and quite high-pitched in the mouth, with juicy, intense berry flavors. But today the wine's strong acids give it a shrillness that makes it difficult to taste.
