94 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - November/December 2001

($100) Full red-ruby. Tight but nuanced nose combines raspberry, roasted game, leather and earth; distinctly Burgundian. Superripe and dense, with wonderfully lush fruit and compelling inner-mouth flavor. A remarkably sweet, ripe Rioja with buns of steel. Finishes with lush tannins and extremely persistent, fruit-driven flavors of raspberry and strawberry. A knockout.
