About Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, but it was his daughter-in-law, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin who would catapult it to greatness. The empire that Madam Clicquot built now includes 360 hectares of vines, including 12 of the 17 Grand Crus in Champagne.

(50% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay and 20% pinot meunier; LLAJCD05842):  Light, bright orange.  Fresh redcurrant and strawberry aromas are complemented by notes of orange zest and anise.  Brisk, mineral-accented red fruit flavors are slightly pinched but gain depth with air.  Finishes with a bitter blood orange quality and firm grip.
