A really wonderful Chianti -- with or without food.

After just returning from a wonderful visit and lunch with Carlo and his wife and tasting all the wines he produces (only 5)with great care and discipline on his small family vineyard, I rate this wine a 5 star along with his 2003.

this chianti is simply smoking. one of the very few that can be enjoyed without food. the winery is very small. They produce only 4000 cases a year.

Authentic and perfect. The entire Massanera vineyard is only 18 acres in size. I get so many people looking to re-create the wine experience they had in Tuscany...this is the closest thing to being there. Try Massanera's Prelato too - it's like tar and bacon fat in a glass. HUGE and wonderfully decadent!

Not a bad chianti. I expected it to finish a lot smoother and dryer for the price, especially after reading some of the reviews here. Not a 5 star wine in my opinion.
