About Chateau Branaire Ducru

Chateau Branaire Ducru, a Fourth Growth estate which was once part of neighboring Chateau Beychevelle, is located on the lofty St. Julien-Beychevelle plateau in southern St. Julien. 50 hectares of vines surround the chateau, rooted deep into the alluvial gravel soil. The vineyards are planted to 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot.

Ruby-red. Aromas of roasted plum, tobacco, chocolate and smoky oak. Suave and vinous, with lively acidity giving the wine excellent balance. Not especially powerful but a lovely, classic midweight.
