($70) Saturated full ruby. Spicy aromas of black cherry, licorice, tar and chocolate. Lush, sweet and fruit-driven, with black cherry and redcurrant flavors complicated by mineral and herbal nuances. Long on flavor but also rather elegantly styled, thanks to a solid spine of acidity. Finishes with big, toothdusting tannins and very good grip and length. (Broadbent Selections, San Francisco, CA)
