($20) Medium red. Perfumed, exotic, rather pinot-like aromas of pepper, minerals and spices. Aromatic, peppery and tightly wound in the mouth, with the strong spice character carrying through. In a distinctly Burgundian style. Finishes with substantial dusty oak tannins that call for a year or two of patience. This was fermented in stainless steel, then went through malolactic fermentation and elevage in French oak.
