($40) Bright ruby-red. Spicy, slightly reduced aromas of red berries, licorice and bitter chocolate. Concentrated, creamy and liqueur-like; broader, richer and suaver than the regular '99 bottling, but also sappy and youthful. Finishes with huge but ripe tannins and superb persistence. Offers an uncanny combination of power and finesse.
