1996 Chateau Montrose Saint Estephe (in double magnum)
Producer: Chateau Montrose
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Saint Estephe
93-95 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 1998
More saturated deep red-ruby. Extremely expressive aromas of black cherry, roasted plum, leather and fresh blood, plus a faint truffle nuance. Lush, minerally and very concentrated; has a palate-caressing sweetness and a seamless, elegant mouth feel. Sound acidity gives the flavors excellent clarity. Very long and subtle on the back end, with fine tannins perfectly buffered by fruit. Offers wonderful potential.
