($60) Full ruby-red. Highly aromatic nose combines cassis, blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate. Supple on entry, then dense and concentrated, with penetrating, youthfully unevolved, varietally precise cassis and lead pencil flavors framed by firm acids. At once very dry and quite suave. Strong, spicy, very long finish features powerful, palate-dusting tannins. Offers superb aging potential.
