($55) Ruby-red. Compelling, expressive aromas of black raspberry, leather, violet and game, with hints of new oak and woodsmoke. Then juicy, peppery and bright, with sharply delineated red fruit and leather flavors. Finishes very long and juicy, with rich tannins and notes of boudin noir, leather and black olive tapenade. Even more complex than it appeared to be a year ago, which is the reason for this new tasting note.
