($25) Deep ruby-red. High-toned aromas of black- and redcurrant and licorice, with a light weedy quality. Then sweet, generous and pliant in the mouth, with a creamy middle nicely framed by bright acids. Cassis and licorice flavors are complemented but not overwhelmed by the wine's slight greenness on the aftertaste. A nicely concentrated wine with an enticing sugar/acid balance and firm tannins.
