Deep medium ruby. Crushed berries, licorice, violet, bitter chocolate and eucalyptus on the nose. Intense, juicy, extremely primary flavors of blackberry, tar and licorice. Quite unyielding today, even a bit stunted, but not tart. I never would have guessed this was carrying 15% alcohol. Finishes with huge tannins that will require extended cellaring.
