(this is the single 2002 Ausbruch to be bottled under the Ernst Triebaumer label and marries chardonnay, pinot blanc and welschriesling; again, there's just one new barrique of this wine) Aromas of vanilla, brown spices, apple jelly, pineapple and honey. The palate is imposingly fat and creamy, yet also quite bracing, leading to a spicy, juicy, honeyed, strikingly intense finish. Potential 2 stars.
