($28) Highly spicy aromas of rose petal, cinnamon and earth. Rich and perfumed in the mouth, with notes of spiced meats and lavender and a slightly sweaty varietal note. Boasts very good fruit and grip. Still a bit unsettled following the early September bottling, but offers the sexy sugar/acid balance of the better examples of this vintage. This should be rounding into shape by the time it's released in mid-2004.
