About Chateau Lafite-Rothschild
Chateau Lafite-Rothschild has been sitting at the top of Bordeaux wine lists since the 17th century. Purchased by the Rothschild family in 1868, Lafite has seen it all over the years, from epidemics of phylloxera to German occupation during World War II. Today, Lafite continues to produce some of the finest, and most expensive, wines in the world.
1998 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild Carruades de Lafite Pauillac (half bottle)

Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Pauillac

Ruby-red. Red berries and mint on the reticent nose. Juicy, leanish and a bit closed in on itself, with slightly green flavors of dark berries and minerals. Quite dry but offers sneaky intensity and a lingering finish. This should benefit from a few years of patience. Very much like Lafite in miniature.
