($36) Black-ruby to the rim. Port-like aromas of kirsch and licorice. Powerful, chewy, slightly coarse flavors of black raspberry, blackberry and black pepper. Hugely sweet and ripe but also has a penetrating quality. Finishes with building tannins and lingering flavors of dark berries and violet. These wines are bargain-priced.
