About Bonny Doon Vineyard
Iconoclast Randall Grahm made his name as one of the original Rhône Rangers in California. When he purchased land in the Santa Cruz Mountains in the early ‘80s his dream was actually to develop great American Pinot Noir. This feat temporarily eluded him, but what he developed was a knack for lesser-grown, Mediterranean varieties.

($32; a blend of mourvedre, syrah, grenache, cinsaut and counoise) Medium red. Perfumed nose combines blackberry, raspberry, leather, pepper andorange peel, all lifted by a floral topnote. Medium-bodied, firm and serious, with sweetflavors of strawberry, raspberry, chocolate and pepper. Finishes firm and peppery, with a hint of bitter chocolate. These four food-friendly Bonny Doon reds fromRhone Valleyvarieties show pristine, scented, lively aromas, no doubt due largely to the fact that they are all sealed with screwcaps.
