($192) Deep red. Cool, fresh aromas of black cherry, mocha, fresh herbs, licorice and violet. Very dense and thick but fine-grained, with impressive energy in the mouth. A big, broad, youthfully medicinal wine that finishes with rich, horizontal tannins and excellent length. About one-third of these vines were planted in 1902.
