($10) Good deep red. Lively aromas of black cherry, fresh herbs and peppery spices, with a hint of minerality. Juicy, dry-edged flavors of peppery red fruits and minerals. Not at all a superripe style of 2003; in fact, this offers a chalky impression of energy in the mouth. The wine's dusty tannins and vinosity should serve it well at the dinner table. Good value.
