($60) Pale color. Exotic orange peel, pineapple and coconut on the nose. Sweet, fat and a bit exotic in the mouth, with notes of smoke, truffle, herbs and tropical fruits, along with a distinct leesy character (Thomas stirred the wine weekly until the end of the malo and monthly thereafter.) Shows a slightly musque character. Finishes with flavors of pineapple, butter and sweet nuts and some warmth. Vintages 2002 and 2004 are more minerally than this one, notes Thomas.
