About Chateau Leoville Barton
Chateau Leoville-Barton bears the name of one of the most prominent families in the Bordeaux wine trade. Don't be fooled by their Irish roots, the Bartons know wine, and have stamped their name all over the Medoc.
2003 Chateau Leoville Barton Langoa-Barton
Producer: Chateau Leoville Barton
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Bordeaux Blend
Origin: France
Region: Bordeaux
Appellation: Saint Julien
92-93 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2005
Red-ruby. Aromas of kirsch, currant, chocolate, licorice and mint, with more of an impression of mineral spine than its stablemate Langoa-Barton. Wonderfully ripe, rich and sweet. A fruit bomb in 2003, with deep black cherry and currant flavors complicated by leather and minerals. The wine's chocolatey tannins reach the molars. Every bit as impressive as it appeared to be a year ago.
