About Araujo Estate
Since 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo have carried on the tradition of making monster Cabernets from the Eisele Vineyard, adding Syrah into the mix as well. Their flagship bottling is dense, powerful and rich, typically with soil-inflected notes of plum, mocha, tobacco and smoke, and very suave tannins.

($85) Good ruby-red. Plum, leather and tobacco on the nose, along with a whiff of band-aid. Sweet on entry, then fat and full in the middle, with liqueur-like flavors of black raspberry, smoke, mocha, game and truffle. Offers very good mouth coverage. Turned a bit dusty with aeration, but finishes with ripe tannins and very good length.
