About Araujo Estate
Since 1990, Bart and Daphne Araujo have carried on the tradition of making monster Cabernets from the Eisele Vineyard, adding Syrah into the mix as well. Their flagship bottling is dense, powerful and rich, typically with soil-inflected notes of plum, mocha, tobacco and smoke, and very suave tannins.
2003 Araujo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard Napa Valley (in magnum)
Producer: Araujo Estate
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Cabernet Sauvignon
Origin: California
Region: Napa
94(+?) Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2006
(88% cabernet sauvignon, 9% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot) Good ruby-red. Captivating aromas of black raspberry, toffee, mocha and flowers. Dense, lush and sweet, with fruit flavors complicated by game, mocha and brown spices. This offers lovely harmony and finishes very suave and very long, with an enticing fruit/tannin balance. Likely to age well.
