About Pride Mountain Vineyards
Nestled above the Spring Mountain fog, on the Napa-Sonoma county line, Pride Mountain Vineyard sits on a former 340-acre agricultural Summit Ranch. In 1989, when Jim and Carolyn Pride purchased the spread they planned on growing grapes to sell, but soon caught the bug and built a winery.
2003 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Franc Sonoma County
Producer: Pride Mountain Vineyards
Style: Red Wine
Grape Type: Cabernet Franc
Origin: California
Region: Sonoma
91 Points | International Wine Cellar , May/June 2006
($58; blended with 25% merlot) Good full red. Aromas of black cherry, redcurrant, tobacco and mocha. Supple and sweet in the mouth, with dark berry and licorice flavors and little of the herbal character shown by so much North Coast cabernet franc. Finishes with dusty but sweet tannins, noteworthy breadth and fullness, and some lingering chocolatey oak. Excellent cabernet franc.
