($45) Ruby red. Exotic aromas of blackberry, smoked meat, vanilla, mocha and candied licorice. Fat and velvety in texture, with impressively sweet dark berry and plum flavors retaining energy and precision through the finish. Tannins are fine-grained. As in most recent vintages, an intriguing, sexy wine. (The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA)
