($40-$42) Bright yellow-gold. Orange peel, licorice and a suggestion of insecticide not unlike that shown by the 2004. Quite sweet but with slightly streaky acidity keeping the flavors under wraps. Intensely flavored but today the wine's elements are a bit disassociated and the finish shows a faint bitter edge. This was penetrating and pure a year ago from the barrel, but today it displays the aggressive side of the vintage.
