A mincemeat-like aromatic melange of white raisin, baked apple, beef and brown spices. Rich but with lift and delicacy on the palate. Apricot jam, candied citrus and spiced mincemeat flavors are layered in a very pure and ravishingly long finish. Twelve and a half grams of acidity are enough to ensure refreshment and enhance the sense of clarity of overripe but botrytis-free fruit. Displays a custardy, creamy texture unusual for Eiswein. Very refined, free of excess (other than of degrees Oechsle!), and, for its genre, remarkably delicious and harmonious already as a young wine. 2 stars.
