88(+?) Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - July/August 2005

($30) Dark red. Reticent earthy, rooty aromas of kirsch, licorice, chocolate and tobacco. A richly flavored midweight with sweet cassis and blackberry flavors. A bit clenched on the back, this wine slowly opened and became sweeter, with its flavors framed by moderate dusty tannins. There seems to be ample sweet fruit here to reward a few years of aging.
