NV R. L. Buller & Son Rare Calliope Muscat (half bottle)

Full tawny-brown. Exotic orange peel and raisin on the nose. Superconcentrated, dense and chewy, but kept fresh by penetrating acidity. In fact, this offers rare lift in the mouth and on the back end for a wine in this style. Wonderfully tactile, solid sweet muscat with a slowly mounting, distinctly spicy finish that goes on and on. A tad less sweet than the Rare Tokay, at 292 g/l residual sugar.

Medium brown. Smoky cherry, caramel and tangy, almost salty Madeira-like notes on the nose. Intensely salty flavor of toffeed apple, with a sweet, cooked cherry quality as well. Long and firm, with a candied pecan note carrying through the finish.
