I agree with Maguire. A friend brought this over and after first sip, I was reminded why I love Cabs. great value, full-enough body, very smooth. Wonderful!!

The 07 has very accepable nose, good body, good color, well balanced; good cab mouthfeel; lasting finish. Many 10-15 dollar wines only wish they tasted this good. Guiltless indulgence for 5.00. Right on, Total Wine.
great cab for price

5 stars only when you consider price. 2 or 3 star considering flavor, but for a $7 cab you can't beat it. Give it a try.
Very beautiful wine, and price cannot be beat

This is the first cab that I tasted which was actually sweet. It is very sweet, much more so than other cabs. I love it! It is easily available and the price cannot be beat

I was lucky enough to have some of this from my friend who brought a bottle to the restaurant. Definitely the best one I have tasted for the price.

Rich and bold flavors - great cab for the price. Even compared it with a pricier Cab and liked this one better. A votre sante!
Great bang for the buck

I pick this up for $6.99 and it's one of the best values out there. This is a great cheap wine to buy by the case and drink between those really special more expensive bottles.
An old favorite

A great everyday cab, very drinkable. Slighly sweet for a cab, in my opinion, but my husband and I really like it. And a great price.
What a surprise

My wife brought home a bottle to sample. I put it off thinking it wouldn't be worth opening. I'll have to buy a case now to enjoy and ensure that one bottle wasn't an anomoly.
Good wine Great Value

I think Sour Grapes got a bad bottle.
There is nothing not to like about this wine (if you like cab. sav. that is).
I ditto the comment that I would serve this wine to any guest. I am always in search of a respectable bottle of a full bodied, complex red, at an every day wine price. This is the best Red at this price that I have found to date. I usually pay $10 - $15 for wines this good.
I would give this wine 5 stars based on value for dollar, and 4 Stars based on similar reds at any price.

I may not be a wine expert, but this wine is one of my favorites. I find it smooth, with a creamy finish. I think this is a great red.

Blunt, Green and Bitter
06/18/2009
by Collins12543812
I totally agree with Anderson. I found the 2007 S.L. Cab to have a blunt nose of tar and a flat, bitter, "green" taste. It tastes as if they left the stems on when they vinted the wine. The finish was harsh and unpleasant. I realize this is a young wine, but I don't hold out much hope. Besides, who is aging $8.00 wine? I find nothing to recommend this wine. No stars.
Wonderful nose, bitter finish
10/31/2008
by Anderson13058877
I purchased this wine based on the recommendations of previous customers. The nose was very good. The finish, however, was bitter. It had a green taste, perhaps the tanins and the oak combined to form this horrible bitter taste. You may have noticed that the good reviews of this wine are dated 2006 and 2007 and it may have been a good wine then, but now you should avoid this wine at all costs. You would be better off just tossing your $5 into the air and watch it sail towards the sun on an updraft. BTW, it doesn't deserve even one star.
