the 2006 is great!!
I didn't like the 2005 smoking look Pinot Noir. the 2006, however, is REALLY good. I would consider it one of the best Pinot Noirs out there for the money.
We loved it. B enjoyed. Very drinkable not too acidic.
I liked it.....
I was impressed by this 2007 for the price but I am by no means a wine expert. I liked that it seemed balanced and not too acidic like some of the less expensive wines.
2006 Smoking Loon Pinot
Excellent utility Pinot. Very impressed for the price... very light and fruity, not at all heavy as someone else noted about the 2005. Will no doubt buy this under $10 pinot again!
Can't beat it for the money.
I was very happy with this choice..
I saw the zinfandel was also rated well by USA today - anyone seen/tried it?
This is one of my favorite bottles of pinot noir for the price.
Smoking Loon Pinot Noir
by Delaware Matt
I enjoyed Smoking Loon for the first time this past weekend with a nice meaty pasta dish. Totally delicious. Smooth, deep taste - perfect with a hearty meal.
I was a bit disappointed in this wine. Not quite as smooth as would have liked. But, still a drinkable wine.
A pleasant little wine!
For the price, it is very drinkable. I have begun lately tasting a great variety of PN... starting at the mid range in pricing... and for this lower end price range, you can't beat SL, especially if you are hosting a party.
This is one of my favorite pinots under $10
Bit too much Spice for my taste.

I didn't care for this thick, blunt, tart 2005 offering. Exhibited little complexity or notable Pinot Noir varietal characteristics. I'm moving on,,,,,,,,
Too heavy and too low quality for an under $10 P.N.
There are much better Pinots out there for under $10. This one is much to dark and musky to be a good Noir. Light, Dry, Fruity is what it should be! No musk please! There are better out there, BellaS comes to mind. Sorry my second review, first didn't seem to post. Worst wine I have ever had.
As with most Smoking Loon Wines, this one again shows nothing but lead-like characteristics. Surprisingly watery for a California Pinot, flavors are completely uneven, balance and finish non-existent. Let's get over the name and taste some real wine and Pinot!
not for me
maybe I got a bad bottle (2004) but the bottom line is that I didn't like the taste
