($75) Deep red-ruby. Ripe, complex nose melds plum, currant, chocolate, beefsteak tomato and smoked meat. Lush and sweet in the middle palate, with very fine-grained flavors of dark currant, smoke, licorice and sassafras. Finishes longer and sweeter than the 2003. Very sexy and complex California merlot.
