($97; for 375 ml) Deep amber with a bright copper rim. Sexy aromas of molasses, burnt orange, cherry and apricot pit, smoky herbs and dried flowers. Decadently sweet, palate-coating pit fruit and orange marmalade flavors give way to deeper toffee and quince paste in the mid-palate, with a note of candied rose on the back half. Richer and more velvety than the tokay but not as lively, finishing with more power and lingering sweetness. I find these wines to be of equal quality, just different. (Click Wine Group, Seattle WA)
