($60; 60% grenache, 25% syrah and 15% mourvedre; 15.8% alcohol) Good full medium red. Sappy black cherry, violet, licorice and a whiff of flint on the complex nose. Large-scaled and mouthfilling, with terrific fruit. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins. The syrah provides the mid-palate weight, while the mourvedre gives cut to the fruit and lengthens the finish, notes Trevisan. This wears its high alcohol gracefully.
