The story of Domaine Dujac began with the ambition of Jacques Seysses, the son of a biscuit manufacturer. Jacques never wanted to follow in his father's footsteps, however; his sights were set on making wine.

($75) Medium red. Red raspberry, minerals and spices on the nose. Juicy and firm-edged, with red berry and spice flavors offering good palate coverage. A lively, slightly peppery wine that finishes with rather light tannins. This calls for a few years of patience. Interestingly, Jeremy Seysses described the family's 2004s as fresher versions of the 1997s. The slight greenness in the '97s has already begun to morph into a floral character, he added.
