($65; 95% nasco with 5% malvasia) Light amber-gold color. Intensely perfumed aromas of ripe peach, apricot, lichee and minerals, with an uncanny suggestion of late-harvest German riesling. Very sweet and supple on entry, then full in the middle, with concentrated flavors of peach, dried apricot, toffee and honey. Finishes very long and pure, with a lingering iodine note. One of Italy's best dozen sweet wines almost every year, and this version is no exception.
