($13) Pale yellow. Citrus, apple and strong oak spices on the slightly oily nose. Supple and fleshy but with good cut to the lime and mint flavors. Light oak notes of vanilla and spice. I'd wait a year or two on this one. The Mugas age this wine in new French barriques for a few months, after which the seasoned barrels are used for the bodega's Torremuga.

Fruity, lively, nice balance between acidity and fruit. Great summer wine, would be awesome on the deck while grilling fish. Was also great with the chicken/pasta dish I made.
clean, refreshing and food friendly

First time to try wine. Picked up at Balduccis of Alexandria, VA. Had been wanting to try a white rioja and the store manager made a great offer. Was planning to try it with salmon on the grill, but my wife made chicken salad with fresh rosemary (from our garden),sliced smoked almonds and a gazpacho soup with croutons. It was an excellent match for a casual dinner while watching Sunday night football-- -Colts and Ravens. The Muja Rioja Blanco is very food friendly, being an excellent match for the gazpacho and the Mediterranian-style chicken salad sandwiches with rosemary and the smoked almonds. After trying a bottle of this gem of a wine, I will now buy a case to have on hand for pairing an outstanding white with a casual and gourmet dinner. Lovely wine and excellent value as further proof that Spain is producing great whites in addition to their marvelous Ruedas. Jerry Chambers
