A well rounded, powerful wine. Superb on its own and very good with rich Italian dishes.

Compared to many others that I've tried, this 2005 offering is a bit "soft" as cabs go. However, it is still quite firm with plenty of varietal character and complexity. This is a great wine for those new to Cabernet Sauvignon. A delicious apertif, great with red meats and hearty cheeses. Repeat by for certain.

We received this bottle from neighbors. I have like every thing that I have tried from Courtney Benham and this is no different. Excellent!

The grape showed its full character. I could taste the grape, the undertones, and the oak. Well balanced. A decent bouquet, nose green but not an overpowering floral.

Stopped by Total Wine & More to check out their # 1 rated wine for 2007- 2002 Courtney Benham Cabernet Napa. Shared a bottle with my wife and some friends along with some good old fashion pasta and meatballs. We all died and went to heaven! What an excellent Cab for $19.99. I had to buy a case the next day. Without a doubt this is a $30-40 Napa Cabarnet.

Minimal nose with a hint of berrys and spice. Light on the palate with almost no tanin feel - light for a cab. Drinks more like a merlot or malbec. Finish very light spice. Drinkable daily!

2006 is well balanced. Not overly big but still great.

I was told this was the best selling cabernet in the store when I was looking at another cab at same price point so I tried it. Very nice cabernet, great for a steak dinner. I might buy it again but not exceptional - you can do as well if not better at this price or less. Nice balance but the finish is just ok. I can see why it may be a popular choice for red meat dinners.

We enjoyed this wine, smooth and with a GREAT nose, unusual for a Cab. Good value for the money.

Based on previous notes, I was lucky to get this at $15 instead of $20. I was surprised at how ready this 2005 was. It was smooth, well balanced, had concentrated dark fruit and good oak. It's good now but can definitely hold for a few more years. I'd say it's case-worthy.

This past weekend while getting our haul for the week at Total Wine I was lucky to find a tasting for this wine. Like the title of this review says the price is a huge bargain for the wine and I'll share the label with all my friends. This weekend I'm going back to get a case!

I expected a lot more after reading the advertisements. Have found more full tasting cabs for a lot less.

I realize that everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I was VERY disappointed with the 2006 Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon. This AVA has a history for producing great wines, but this $19.99 bottle underperformed. Too sweet/not enough character/no oak-y notes or vanilla. Honestly, if I was blindfolded and tasted this, I'd swear it was Yellowtail Cabernet (yes, I have tasted Yellowtail on occasion!)

It is a OK bottle.. In fact... you can find much a better bottle for less money.
