Densely packed but tightly coiled, with penetrating, sharply delineated flavors of pineapple, lemon, crushed stone, menthol and spices. Displays a distinctly cool character. Finishes long and dusty, with a repeating medicinal quality. This will need patience. From "austere" dark marne and clay soil deposited just before the last ice age, says Deiss, who considers this his longest-aging wine along with the Schoenenbourg.
