This 2002 is an amazing merlot. It's medium bodied, smooth, and elegant. On the palate, there's dark fruit - cherry and blueberry. The finish has hints of herb and milk chocolate. For those of you who decided to stop drinking merlot after seeing the movie Sideways, I recommend trying this one.

Very good for the price, a lot of taste for a merlot.

Decanted for an hour, this 2001 offering exhibited little nose, thin cherry palate, unfocused structure and a fleetingly tart finish. Very disappointing Merlot at the price. I instinctively root for the "little guys," but the Ellicocks hit a real clunker with this one. There are many much better California red wines for half this price.
