I am usually a ZIn drinker, but tried this because we had a house guest that loves Valpolicella. Can't say enough for the value..Smooth, tasty and easy drinking..worth a try..it's now one of our regular purchases
a WINE FOR EVERYONE

This is an amazing wine. Everyone finds what they like in this smooth, full bodied, low tannin red. Excellent for a dinner wine, as well as for just enjoying a glass while the sun sets.
A staple in our house

Rich and velvety smooth. Always a hit with our guests! Always keep several bottles on hand. Can't beat it for the price. You won't be disappointed!
Next best thing to an Amarone

If you can't afford an Amarone, this is the next best thing.

Nice, full-bodied, a great Amarone-like Val. Buy again!
I FOOLED THEM ALL!

A wonderful tasting, velvety smooth delight as this wine took the WTC (Wine Tasters Club) by surprise. They couldn't believe it wasn't a $20 bottle of wine. Outstanding taste, velvety smooth, good nose, full-bodied. This is one of my favorite wines.
When you can't afford the amarone

This is almost as good. In fact it was better than the $20 amarone that Total Wine has for sale. I will DEFINATELY be buying this one again. I understand the reason this wine is so much like an amarone is because the wine is allowed to sit on crushed amarone grapes (which are raisened grapes--at least in part).
Finally, A ripasso I will buy again.

Not complex but raisin and dark fruit. Definitely next to an amarone. Held up well after being open a day.
Great value

OK, so it's not an amarone, or even a top ripasso -- but for $11 a bottle (case discount) this was excellent. If you want a wine with real Italian varietal character for an informal meal, give it a try.

Really flavorable Valpolicella. Like it a lot.
Great Buy

May be the best Ripasso for the money - smooth - you can pick up the Amarone tones for Valpolicella $
richer and fuller

a terrific ripasso without spending arm and leg. very nice for change of pace and matches well with flavorful foods.
Disappointing Ripasso!

Unfortunately this was a rather disappointing experience. Perhaps no one can make an authentic "Ripasso" at this "QPR?" Villa Maffei's unremarkable wine is nearly devoid of those uniquely "Ripasso" raisin, dried fruits and licorice characteristics. It was just another bland unfocused Valpolicella posing as a "Ripasso."
Disappointing for a Ripasso

Good but not special. The other Ripasso (Ripassa)wines offered by TW are better.
