90 Points | Stephen Tanzer's IWC - test
($30) Bright ruby. Knockout nose combines raspberry, woodsmoke, sandalwood, violet and meat. Sweet and lush but juicy, with concentrated, lively flavors of currant, bitter cherry, pepper and herbs. Not quite as expressive in the mouth as on the nose, but then this wine, which undergoes a month of post-fermentation maceration, typically begins tight. Finishes with fine tannins and excellent length and cut.
