($48; made completely from mourvedre) Deep, dark ruby color. Wild, expressive scents of dark berries, plum, tobacco and damp earth. Utterly classic Bandol, with sweet, meaty flavors of plum liqueur, bitter cherry, dark chocolate and garrigue, all framed by solid, youthful tannins. Impressively deep and rich on the finish.
